When the IFC outgrew its existing office building adjacent to 2100 K Street, the solution was the construction of a major new office expansion adjacent to, but separate from, its existing building. Perfectly aligned floors provide direct access between the two buildings and the option to serve as one combined space. However, 2100 K’s core and essential MEP and life safety systems are all completely separate from the IFC’s adjacent structure, permitting the addition to function in the future as a stand-alone structure.
